John Lopez is an entrepreneur who has spent more than a decade turning ideas into working businesses, from cannabis to pet care to childcare and home services. Along the way, he learned what every owner eventually learns: growth depends on systems, including marketing, follow-up, and operations that keep running even when you're stretched thin.
Service First
John served as a U.S. Army Combat Engineer with the 37th Engineer Battalion at Fort Bragg and deployed to Afghanistan in 2006–2007, conducting route-clearance and Quick Reaction Force missions. He came home with PTSD and a lasting belief in discipline, adaptability, and follow-through. Those values have guided every business he has built since.
Building in Cannabis
John’s flagship business, Old Route 66 Wellness, is a veteran- and minority-owned dispensary in Springfield, Missouri. It grew by focusing on accessibility: drive-thru pickup, delivery, a rewards program, and a full product range at fair prices.
To control the products as well as the storefront, he built Bison Infused, a manufacturer whose Zen Cannabis line includes vapes, gummies, chocolates, tinctures, infused drinks, and more, sold to dispensaries across Missouri. Marvin’s Garden Dispensary is now bringing the same customer-first approach to New Jersey.
Pet Care & Family Services
Howliday Inn Pet Resort offers boarding and daycare built around personalized care and safety. Dapper Doodle Grooming in Springfield combines full grooming, self-wash stations, and a Wash Club membership that brings in steady, recurring revenue.
Not every venture worked. Barc-ee’s, a dog-themed retail and hospitality concept, didn’t succeed. John took the lessons and applied them to Sprouting Spot, a childcare and early-learning brand.
Purpose Beyond Profit
K9s For Camo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports veterans and first responders with trained service dogs and emotional support animals, helping reduce the effects of PTSD and trauma.
Sprouting Spot Preschool & Daycare in Marshfield, Missouri, offers early education that blends STEM learning, language, problem-solving, and play, with small class sizes and dedicated educators.

Foam Fortress provides spray foam insulation for homes and commercial buildings across Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, and nearby communities.
Springfield Overwatch Security develops AI-powered drone security systems for ranches, farms, and commercial properties, along with AI frameworks for security operations, HR, workforce management, and compliance.
